NEWS: Caribbean Debut at THE GALLERY BERLIN Includes drennaLUNA

THE GALLERY BERLIN: MORE DIVERSE THAN EVER

For the upcoming Fashion Week THE GALLERY BERLIN will welcome its exhibitors and visitors at a new and exciting location. From 2 – 4 July, 2013, the Opernwerkstätten, an abandoned opera prop factory complex steeped in tradition in the Berlin-Mitte district, will astonish guests with lots of space for new innovations and a sublime ambiance. “A unique high-voltage, creative atmosphere develops as modern concepts bump into props from the equipment store of the former Berlin State Theatre. The new location has generated immense interest,” says THE GALLERY BERLIN Project Director Elke Sautter.

In this new environment the fashion trade show will be more attractive and diverse than ever before. The Opernwerkstätten offer more space for individual contemporary fashion and design collections, as well as for accessories. A varied show programme featuring the new 2014 Spring/Summer designer trends will be a special highlight this year.

The German label BEATE HEYMANN STREETCOUTURE will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a fashion show. Celebrity guests are expected at the event on 3 July at 12pm. Berlin designer PETER O. MAHLER has also been in the fashion business for 20 years. He will introduce his new collection on the second day of the trade fair, as well – at a catwalk show at 7pm.

For the first time select Caribbean brands will present their sophisticated and elegant designs at the showcase, as well. They include DRENNA LUNA from Jamaica, HEATHER JONES and MEILING from Trinidad and Tobago, FIFTH ELEMENT DESIGNS from Barbados as well as ORIETT DOMENECH from the Dominican Republic, who has learned her craft from Oscar de la Renta.

Another fashion show will present remarkable fashion by CATHERINE ANDRÉ from France, innovative, assertive styling by the Italian NIU label and BITTE KAI RAND, one of the most successful and well-known fashion brands from Denmark.

In July of 2013 THE GALLERY BERLIN will also be integrated in the official Mercedes Benz Fashion Week shuttle service, which is free of charge for visitors, creating a comfortable link with all the important fashion week hotspots.
